The life of a puppy
From the day the puppies are born through their first three weeks, all our Standard Poodle puppies are weighed every day. This lets us know that each puppy is healthy, because a puppy should gain weight every day at this young age. If there is any weight loss, it is a warning that something could be wrong. If anyone loses weight or is not gaining at the rate they should, we step in and hand-nurse and/or bottle feed them. Starting at three weeks of age, our babies have food available twenty-four hours a day.
We feed the the four to eight weeks old puppies an appetizing mix of chicken, chicken broth and kibble. Any puppy who is slow to dive into this tempting meal is weighed, examined, and watched closely for several days. The first sign of a puppy not feeling well is a loss of appetite.
Our Standard Poodle puppies have their faces and tails trimmed, nails clipped and ears cleaned multiple times before they reach seven weeks.
We start the house breaking process within our climate controlled indoor/outdoor facility. Our Standard Poodle puppies are accustomed to being inside in a smaller climate-controlled area at night, and they have access to the outside play area all day.
All age-appropriate vaccines and de-wormers are administered. When you take your Standard Poodle puppy home you will receive a sample of the food that we use. You will also have our assistance available to you throughout the life of your puppy.
Each prospective puppy buyer is invited to come visit us at the home to pick up your Standard Poodle puppy.
Puppy Purchase Process & Policies
WE DO NOT ACCEPT PERSONAL CHECKS FOR A FULL PAYMENT.
All puppies must be paid for in full, on or before the day your puppy turns 8 weeks old and is picked up.
DEPOSITS:
When you have decided to purchase your new puppy, prior to the date the puppy turns 6 weeks old you will need to pay a $300.00 non-refundable but transferable deposit for Limited Registration. Maximum wait for deposit is 3 days. You may pay the deposit with the following options:

PAYMENT OF BALANCE:
• Remaining amount is due on or before the day your puppy turns 8 weeks old, or the day of pick up.
• If you have not yet paid a deposit on a puppy by the time the litter reaches 6 weeks, Payment in Full will be required at the time of your commitment to purchase.
Contract
Please read our contract carefully. The contract will be returned to you once your puppy is picked up. It will contain pertinent information such as the AKC litter number, the parents’ names and AKC numbers as well as your puppy’s date of birth. It serves as your receipt for payment in full and it explains the guarantee on your puppy. You will receive a record of all shots and vaccinations your puppy has had while in our care.
You will need to take the completed contract and vaccination record to your veterinarian when your Standard Poodle puppy goes in for its initial 3-day puppy wellness checkup. This contract will give your vet the information he/she needs to set your Standard Poodle puppy on a schedule for the remaining vaccines that it needs.
Your Standard Poodle puppy can go home at 8 weeks old. You must pick up your puppy as close to the 8 week pick-up date as possible. Please be sure to email mshab@att.net to set an appointment time for pick up.
You have until your puppy reaches 9 weeks old to pick it up. If for some reason you are unable to pick up, we will be glad to hold your puppy for a small daily boarding fee of $10.00. This will be payable in cash or by PayPal at the time of pickup.
If you purchase a puppy that is over 8 weeks old, you will have 10 days to pick it up. Again, if you are unable to pick up within the 10 days, the same daily boarding fee applies.
Registration Papers
The following information will be used on the registration papers:
A pet PUPPY is defined herein to be a Standard Poodle PUPPY and embodies the general characteristics of the Standard Poodle breed. This PUPPY is purebred and the litter has been registered with the American Kennel Club. This PUPPY is registered with a limited registration, which will prohibit registering offspring or conformation showing. IF FOUND THAT THIS FAMILY AFFAIR STANDARD POODLE HAS BEEN REGISTERED UNDER ANOTHER REGISTRY OR USED FOR MIX BREEDING, THIS CONTRACT WILL BE CONSIDERED BREACHED AND WILL RENDER THIS CONTRACT AND ITS CONTENTS NULL AND VOID. A $5000.00 FINE WILL BE IMPOSED ON THE BUYER THROUGH THE UNITED STATES CIVIL COURT JUDICIAL SYSTEM.
